Allegations: Ms. Starlet R. Skop, the executrix of Ms. Dorothy Skop’s estate, filed a lawsuit against Bayshore Pointe Nursing & Rehab Center for nursing home negligence. During Dorothy Skop’s residency at the nursing home, she suffered from multiple infections, medication errors, bedsores, skin tears, malnutrition, dehydration, and fractures to her left hip and femur. The lawsuit filed against the facility alleges that Ms. Skop passed away as a result of the neglect and abuse she suffered.
Boorom, Florence vs. Bayshore Pointe Nursing & Rehab Center
Allegations: Ms. Florence Boorom filed a suit against Bayshore Pointe Nursing & Rehab Center after suffering a fall in the facility. Ms. Boorom was noted to be a fall-risk upon admittance into the facility. She fell multiple times in the facility due to being unsupervised. One of the falls resulted in Ms. Boorom suffering from a fractured right hip.
Hangen, Ronald J. E/O vs. Bayshore Pointe Nursing & Rehab Center
Allegations: Ms. Carol Hangen, the personal representative of the estate of Mr. Ronald Hagen, filed a lawsuit against Bayshore Pointe for nursing home negligence. While a resident of the facility, Mr. Hagen suffered numerous falls resulting in facial fractures, multiple lacerations needing suturing, and severe weight loss. According to the complaint, Mr. Hangen ultimately passed as a result of Bayshore Pointe Nursing & Rehab Center’s negligence.
Deficiencies at Bayshore Pointe Nursing & Rehab Center for Resident Care Violations
June 23rd, 2022, Inspection at Bayshore Pointe Nursing & Rehab Center
During an inspection at the facility, surveyors interviewed and observed several residents and their families. Surveyors were told that the residents’ diapers were rarely changed by the facility’s staff. One of the resident’s family members stated that the resident was, “so wet that the floor beneath him was wet with urine.”
March 2nd, 2022, Inspection at Bayshore Pointe Nursing & Rehab Center
A complaint inspection held at Bayshore Pointe revealed that the facility’s staff had failed to monitor two residents for signs of injury or changes in condition after falls.
August 2nd, 2019, Inspection at Bayshore Pointe Nursing & Rehab Center
An August 2nd, 2019, Inspection at the facility determined that nurses had failed to administer medications to one of the residents. The resident was supposed to be receiving a topical treatment for pain twice a day, but received it either once a day or not at all.
