Allegations: In late April 2023, the personal representative of the estate of Sarah Cotrupi Thompson, Sandra Brislin, filed a nursing home negligence lawsuit against Conway Lakes Health & Rehabilitation Center. During her time in the nursing home, Ms. Cotrupi Thompson developed three unstageable pressure ulcers. She unfortunately passed away from complications of her injuries.
Wright Jr., Francis A. E/O vs. Conway Lakes Health & Rehabilitation Center
Allegations: The representative of the estate of Francis A. Wright, Jr., Margaret Wright, filed a nursing home negligence case against Conway Lakes Health & Rehabilitation Center in late 2021. According to the complaint, Mr. Wright suffered from sepsis, c. Diff, urinary tract infections (UTIs), malnutrition, bowel impactions, and falls resulting in hematomas, lacerations, and contusions while under the nursing home’s care. Due to the above listed conditions, Mr. Wright suffered an untimely death.
Weitl, Linda E/O vs. Conway Lakes Health & Rehabilitation Center
Allegations: As Linda Weitl’s estate’s personal representative, Brandy Weitl filed a nursing home negligence lawsuit against Conway Lakes Health & Rehabilitation Center. The case was filed with the courts in February 2021. While in Conway Lakes, Ms. Weitl suffered a preventable fall resulting in a T1 compression fracture. Additionally, she suffered from sepsis, UTI, pneumonia, and Covid-19. She passed away while receiving treatment at a hospital for her infections.
Alleged Deficiencies at Conway Lakes Health & Rehabilitation Center for Resident Care Violations
February 9th, 2023, Inspection at Conway Lakes Health & Rehabilitation Center
During a standard health inspection at Conway Lakes in February 2023, inspectors interviewed residents to identify any resident care issues. While interviewing Resident #4, inspectors were told that she had not had her hair washed in three months. According to the resident and records, she was given a bed bath or shower once a week but was not thoroughly cleaned during them. Resident #4 also developed a pressure ulcer on her sacrum, but staff did not conduct regular skin checks to ensure if the wound was healing or deteriorating.
