Allegations: In Roselyn Olivares v. New Jewish Home, the Complaint alleges that an employee of the Facility negligently provided hot coffee to a patient. Ms. Olivares suffered from tremors, and should not have been given scalding hot coffee. The Complaint alleges that the staff member failed to notice this, and provided Ms. Olivares hot coffee even though the resident was “sightless and had persistent tremor conditions involving [Ms. Olivares’s] arms and hands”. Sadly, the Complaint alleges this coffee was spilled causing serious burns and injuries.
Case Number 2 – Delores Negron v. New Jewish Home
Filed – September 6, 2017
Allegations: According to the Complaint, New Jewish Home violated Federal regulations and State of New York regulations during Ms. Negron’s residency. In particular, the Complaint alleges violations of NYS Public Health Law Sections 2801-d and 2803-c. The allegations state that Ms. Negron suffered a preventable fall “due to a dangerorous and defective condition” that was created negligently by staff members at the facility. These unsafe conditions allegedly led to serious, permanent injuries.
Case Number 3 – Doris Shreiber v. New Jewish Home
Filed: February 5, 2019
Allegations: The Complaint notes that the Defendants, New Jewish Home and their holding company, 156 West 106th Street Holding Corp., did not maintain a safe environment at the facility. Allegedly, the facility had “hazardous, defective and dangerous conditions” which caused serious injury to Ms. Schreiber. The Complaint alleges that the facility violated New York Consolidated Laws CVP Section 1602.
